With Simple Affiliate, all affiliates are created as customers with the tag "Affiliate". This feature allows you to easily create customer groups and segments, which will help when emailing affiliates using your preferred email marketing platform. Below you learn how to use Shopify's email feature to contact affiliates.
Using Shopify's Marketing Campaigns feature
1. Filter customers with an "affiliate" tag
Navigate to the "Customers" section in your Shopify Admin
Click "filter" and select "Customer tags"
Next, select CONTAINS 'Affiliate'
Click "Save segment" and enter a name for your segment
2. Create a "Campaign"
Navigate to the "Campaigns" section under "Marketing"
Click the "Create campaign" button
Select "Shopify Email" from the list
3. Configure the "Campaign"
Choose the desired campaign template from the list provided by Shopify
Click the "To:" field and select the customer group we created for affiliates
It is important to remember that only subscribed customers will be available for email campaigns
In Klaviyo, navigate to the "Lists & Segments" tab in your account
Click Create "List / Segment" in the upper right corner
Click the "Segment" option
Use the "Affiliate" tag
Click "Create Segment"
Click Apps.
Select Mailchimp: Email Marketing.
Click on the Tags & Groups tab.
Click the Add a rule button.
Create a Rule name and choose the criteria you want to apply to your customers.
You can add multiple and/or criteria to the rule, then click Save and continue.
Click the first drop-down menu to Choose an action. You add or remove the customer from a tag in Shopify and Mailchimp, add/remove an order from Shopify, or add/remove a customer from an interest group in Mailchimp.
Click Activate rule.
Importing Contacts to Mailchimp with CSV
Navigate to the "Customers" section in your Shopify Admin
Click "filter" and select "Customer tags"
Next, select CONTAINS 'Affiliate'
Click the "Export" button to download the segment
Use Mailchimp's import wizard to upload the segment file
