Suspending an affiliate is a useful tool for pausing their activity without permanently deleting their account or historical data. While an affiliate is suspended, their referral links and discount codes will stop tracking new commissions, and they will lose access to their personal dashboard.
How to Suspend an Affiliate
Suspending an account pauses all tracking and dashboard access. You can do this in two ways:
Method A: From the Affiliate List (Bulk Action)
Navigate to the Affiliates section.
Select the checkbox next to the affiliate(s) you wish to pause.
Click the "Suspend" button in the action bar above the list.
Method B: From the Affiliate Profile
Click on the affiliate's name to open their profile.
Click the red "Suspend" button located in the overview card.
Finalizing uspension
Regardless of the method, a confirmation window will appear:
Notify the Affiliate: Check the "Send affiliate suspension email" box if you want the system to alert them.
Confirm: Click the red "Confirm" button. The status label will change to a yellow "Suspended" tag.
How to Reactivate a Suspended Affiliate
Reactivating an affiliate restores their tracking links and dashboard access immediately.
Method A: From the Affiliate List (Bulk Action)
Navigate to the Affiliates section and click the "Suspended" tab to filter your list.
Select the affiliate(s) using the checkboxes.
Click the "Approve" button in the action bar.
Method B: From the Affiliate Profile
Finalizing Reactivation
A confirmation window will appear (titled "Approve [Name]"):
Send Welcome Email: Check this box if you want to resend their login credentials and a "Welcome back" style notification.
Confirm: Click "Confirm" to finalize. The status label will return to a green "Active" tag.
Important Rules to Remember
Tracking Blackout: No referrals are recorded while an account is suspended. Tracking resumes only after reactivation and is not retroactive.
Button Language: In the main list, the button is labeled "Approve", while in the individual profile, it is labeled "Restore affiliate". Both perform the same reactivation function.
Dashboard Access: Affiliates cannot log in while suspended. Upon reactivation, their existing store credentials will work again immediately.
What Happens Next?
Once restored, your affiliate is ready to start earning again. It’s often a good idea to reach out personally if they were suspended for a specific reason (like a temporary branding change) to let them know they are cleared to post.
