Paying affiliates with Shopify store credit is a great way to reward your partners while keeping revenue within your store. Simple Affiliate integrates directly with Shopify’s native customer accounts to issue store credit automatically or on demand.
How to Enable Store Credit Payouts
Navigate to Payout Settings: From your main merchant dashboard, go to Settings > Payout.
Enable Store Credit: Toggle the Store credit switch to active.
Verify Shopify Customer Accounts:
If store credit is not yet enabled in Shopify: Click the Customer accounts settings link inside the warning box to open your Shopify Admin settings and turn on Store Credit. Once enabled, return to Simple Affiliate and click Verify store credit enabled.
If store credit is already enabled in Shopify: Simply click Verify store credit enabled.
Save Changes: Click Save in the top bar to finalize your settings.
How Affiliates Experience Store Credit
Redeeming Credit: When a store credit payout is issued, funds are credited directly to the affiliate's customer account on your store. They can apply their credit balance during checkout whenever they place an order.
Tracking Payouts: Affiliates can still view their complete earning history, payout statuses, and credit logs at any time from their affiliate dashboard.
Important Rules to Remember
Email Account Matching: Store credit is tied directly to the affiliate's email address. Ensure your affiliates use the same email address for both their store customer account and their affiliate dashboard record.
Shopify Requirement: The Store Credit payout method requires customer accounts to be active in your Shopify admin settings. If this setting is turned off in Shopify, store credit payouts will pause.
Monthly Schedule Option: You can toggle the Monthly schedule setting next to Store Credit to automatically issue payouts at the end of each month for affiliates who meet your minimum commission balance.
