Creating Custom Affiliate Links
This guide explains how to create memorable, branded, and specific referral links for your affiliates. Custom Links can lead to higher engagement and conversion rates compared to standard referral links.
For example, instead of a standard link like yourstore.com/r?id=ie3ejs . You can create a Custom Link like yourstore.com/ALICE.
Availability: Please note, this feature is available exclusively on the Pro plan.
How to Create a Custom Link
Select the Affiliate. From your main merchant dashboard, navigate to the "Affiliates" section. Find and click on the name of the specific affiliate for whom you want to create a Custom Link.
Initiate the New Link Creation. Within the affiliate's profile details, click the "New Link" button to open the configuration window.
Configure the Link Options. You have three key options to configure for your new link:
Destination URL (Optional) This allows you to create a "deep link" that sends customers to a specific page on your store, rather than the homepage. This is ideal for promoting particular products, collections, or landing pages.
Example:
https://yourstore.com/products/summer-collectionIf you leave this field blank, the link will direct to your store's homepage.
Link Appearance: This is the customizable part of the URL that makes the link unique and memorable. It replaces the random ID found in standard referral links.
Example: To create the link
https://yourstore.com/ALICE, you would enterALICEin this field.
Auto-apply Discount (Optional) This powerful option automatically applies the affiliate's unique discount code to the customer's cart when they click the link, ensuring a seamless experience.
Important Prerequisite: For this to work, you must first have the Discount Code feature enabled for the affiliate's assigned Group.
Create the Link. Once you have finished configuring the options, click "Save".
