Manually Assigning a Referral to an Affiliate

This guide explains how to manually create a referral and assign commission for a specific Shopify order to one of your affiliates.

This feature is particularly useful in situations where a referral was not tracked automatically, such as:

  • An affiliate drove a sale offline or through word-of-mouth.

  • A customer forgot to use the affiliate's link or discount code.

  • You want to reward an affiliate for a specific order as a bonus or to correct a mistake.

Before You Begin: To complete this process, you will need two pieces of information ready:

  1. The Shopify Order Number of the sale.

  2. The email address of the affiliate who should receive the commission.

Step-by-Step Guide to Assigning Referrals

  1. Navigate to the Referrals Section. From your main merchant dashboard, go to the "Referrals" section.

  2. Open the "Add Referral" Window. Click the "Add referral" button, located in the top-right corner of the page.

  3. Enter the Order and Affiliate Details. A pop-up window will appear with two fields:

    • Shopify Order number: Enter the exact order number from your Shopify orders.

    • Affiliate email: Enter the email address associated with the affiliate you wish to credit for the sale.

  4. Save and Confirm: Click the "Save" button.

Once saved, the system will instantly create the referral. The commission will be calculated automatically based on the order details and the commission settings of the affiliate's assigned group.

Please note: An order can only have one referral attributed to it. You cannot use this tool to assign a referral to an order that already has a commission.
