1. Exporting Referred Orders (via Shopify)
Use this method if you need a deep dive into the specific Shopify orders attributed to your affiliates. This is ideal for reviewing customer details or specific products purchased.
How to View and Export Orders
Navigate to the Affiliates Section. From your main merchant dashboard, go to the "Affiliates" section.
Select the Desired Affiliates. Use the search bar or filters (Status, Group, etc.) to find the affiliates you want to analyze. Use the checkbox next to each name to select one or more people.
Open the Referred Orders View. Once selected, click the "View referred orders (on Shopify)" button that appears above the list.
Filter and Export in Shopify. A new browser tab will open, showing the filtered list of orders within your Shopify Admin. From here, you can further refine the list or click the "Export" icon to download the data as a CSV file.
2. Exporting Referrals (via Simple Affiliate)
Use this method if you want a clean list of referral data—including commission amounts and referral status—directly from the app. This is the best option for preparing manual payouts or internal performance reports.
How to Export Referral Data
Navigate to the Affiliates Section. From your main merchant dashboard, go to the "Affiliates" section.
Select the Desired Affiliates. Use the search bar or filters (Status, Group, etc.) to find the affiliates you want to analyze. Use the checkbox next to each name to select one or more people.
Open the Referred Orders View. Once selected, click the "View referrals" button that appears above the list.
Click Export to CSV. Click the "Export" icon or button located at the top of the referral list.
Download Your Report. The system will generate a CSV file containing key data points like the Referral ID, Affiliate Name, Order Total, and the specific Commission Amount owed.
Important Rules to Remember
Data Differences: The Orders Export (from Shopify) focuses on the customer and product data, while the Referrals Export (from Simple Affiliate) focuses on the affiliate performance and commission calculations.
Browser Pop-ups: When clicking "View referred orders (on Shopify)," ensure your browser isn't blocking pop-ups, as the list opens in a new tab.
Large Exports: For very large data sets, it may take a few moments for the CSV file to generate. Do not refresh your page until the download begins.
What Happens Next?
Once you have your CSV file, you can open it in Excel or Google Sheets to calculate totals, create performance charts, or upload the data into your accounting software.
